CityLibrary Search

CityLibrary Search is a great place to start your careers research and find employability resources. You can quickly discover relevant information on any topic across the Library's collections. 

  • You should use CityLibrary Search to find books and e-books in the library collection, and to access full-text journal articles the library subscribes to.
  • To find careers articles and journals, type in some keywords and select Articles from the drop down menu on the right hand side.
  • Search results can be filtered using the facets on the left hand side of the screen. To find electronic books and articles, please click Full Text Online at the top right of the search results screen. 
  • You can save all the relevant results you have retrieved. You can print, email or export them to RefWorks (or other reference management software).

Careers books

These are useful for general background reading on interviews and job hunting or researching different sectors such as health, law and business.

You can access print and electronic books from CityLibrary Search on the Library website. To find electronic books, please click Full Text Online at the top left of the search results screen. 

See our Careers reading list for some of our titles and click View online to read electronic titles and log in with your City IT username and password.

Journal articles

You can find some journal titles in the Journals A-Z list  which is on the Library website. You may wish to search using keywords such as career development.
