Trade publications are also called trade magazines, trade press, trade literature, and practitioner magazines. You can often find them in our large literature databases: once you have run your search, use the filters to the side of your results to select which type of source you are looking for.
We also subscribe to some trade publications individually:
Case studies provide unique insight into a brand or a strategy in a way that is not usually reported. They range across industries and countries, and can be particularly useful for students looking into subjects such as strategy or HR practices. City library provides four main databases for case studies.
In addition to academic research, Business Source Ultimate also provides access to case studies. To access them, type your search term(s) into the search fields at the top and then scroll down to Search Options and select Case Study under Publication Type.
Grey literature can be hard to find without a specific title. Try searching on the websites of governments, charities, research institutes and similar websites to find relevant papers. Universities around the world often make theses available online though their websites and institutional repositories.

EThOS (the Electronic Theses Online System Index) allows searching and access to doctoral theses produced by all PhD awarding UK Higher Education institutions. Some are available for immediate download of full-text, others are available on request.
