Finding books and journal articles

How to find secondary sources to support your studies.

Finding books and e-books

The Law Library has a large range of print books. You can also find e-books on our databases.

Search CityLibrary Search by title, keyword or author to locate books and e-books. To find books on a particular topic, enter your subject keywords in the search box, e.g. criminal law. You can use the filters on the left hand side filters to refine your results, e.g. by library location, publication year, subject terms.

To find a print book in the library, make a note of the shelfmark (e.g. 345.41 HER) and match this to the spine of the book. Books are arranged according to the Dewey Decimal system, and are in numerical order.

To access an e-book, select the Full Text Online link and enter your City username and password.

You can also search within a database such as Oxford Law Trove or Westlaw by topic to find core texts.

Request a copy

What if all the copies of a book I want are out on loan?
