Eikon

Access Datastream using the Excel Add-In for Eikon. Datastream has international financial time series data enabling you to explore relationships and trends, perform correlations, and generate and test investment and trading ideas. It covers:

1. Log in to a PC using your City email address and password.
2. Open the start menu, and select Refinitiv Eikon - Microsoft Excel.

3. Click on the Refinitiv Eikon tab. Click on Sign In and enter the Eikon ID and password.

4. Open the spreadsheet and you will now have access to the Eikon Excel add-in under the Refinitiv Eikon tab.

5. The Refinitiv Eikon Datastream tab should appear automatically. If it doesn't, follow the instructions below.

If the Datastream tab does not appear

If the Refinitiv Eikon Datastream tab does not appear automatically, try restarting Excel. If it still does not appear you will need to add it manually:

1. Select Add-Ons on the Refinitiv Eikon tab. If Add-Ons is not available, select Options and then Apps.
2. Select Enable next to both Datastream and Datastream Charting.

3. The two Enable boxes will change to Installing and then Restart Required. Close the box, then close Excel.

4. Select the Eikon Excel icon. You should get both Refinitiv Eikon and Refinitiv Eikon Datastream tabs at the top of the spreadsheet.

5. Select Sign In on the Refinitiv Eikon tab and enter the Eikon ID and password. You will then get access to the Refinitiv Eikon Datastream add-in.

Signing out

1. When you have finished, click on the drop-down arrow next to Online on the Refinitiv Eikon tab and select Sign Out.
