Academic Practice

This guide is designed for colleagues and students following the MA in Academic Practice and for staff interested in teaching and academic practice.  The MA in Academic Practice course is run by the Learning Enhancement & Development Team (LEaD).

A good starting point to using Library Services is our Library Essentials guide.

Use this guide to:

  • Explore resources for your coursework and research including: books, databases and journals.
  • Obtain further support from Library Services.
  • Discover contact details for your Subject Librarian.
  • Find out how to access other libraries in London.

CityLibrary Search

CityLibrary Search is a great place to start your research. You can quickly discover relevant information on any topic across the Library's collections.

  • You should use CityLibrary Search to find books and e-books in the library collection, and to access full-text journal articles the library subscribes to.
  • It is easy to use. CityLibrary Search uses a familiar search interface, it is similar to Google.
  • Search results can be filtered using the facets on the left hand side of the screen.
  • You can save all the relevant results you have retrieved. You can print, email or export them to RefWorks (or other reference management software).
