Library Services
Current staff and students
- Current staff and student are entitled to access all our online resources except for the very small number of resources which are only available to certain departments
- If this is the case, it will be specified in CityLibrary Search
Help for other users
Alumni
- Alumni should contact the Alumni Office for information about remote access to selected online resources available through the Alumni Online Community.
- All Alumni may visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library. A link to the list of the selected resources can be found below in the Walk-in access to online resources section.
- Business School Alumni may also visit the Business School Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library.
Visiting students
- Visiting Students who are registered on a course of study with City, University of London will have access to the majority of library online resources for the duration of their studies
- Visiting Students who are not registered on a course of study with City, University of London may visit the Northampton Square Library or the Business School Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
Visiting academics
- Visiting Academics who are employed by City, University of London will have access to the majority of library online resources for the duration of their employment. Resources are to be used in the course of their work for the university only.
- Visiting Academics who are not employed by City, University of London may visit the Northampton Square Library or the Business School Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
INTO City
- INTO City students on a City, University of London foundation course pathway and INTO City staff involved in their instruction will have limited access to some library online resources where our licenses permit it
- They may also visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
Validated institutions
- Research students from Trinity Laban and London Guildhall will have limited access to some online resources where our licenses permit it. They may also visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
- Students on any course validated by City, University of London, and any staff involved in their instruction, may visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
Kaplan
- Students, and any staff involved in their instruction, studying with Kaplan on a City, University of London articulation agreement pathway may visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
Sconul members
- Sconul access borrowers and reference members may visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
Short course students
- Short course students may visit the Northampton Square Library for 'walk-in' access to selected resources from a dedicated pc terminal in the library
External library members
- Unfortunately we are unable to offer external library members access to online resources

Walk-in access to online resources
- 'Walk-in' access to selected online resources is available for Validation and Partnership students, City, University of London Alumni, City, University of London short course students and SCONUL Access students from other universities
- To use this service you will need to join the library first. Please bring either your City, University of London ID card, Alumni membership card, short course membership card and course receipt, or your SCONUL membership details with you
- You may book sessions for two hours at a time or drop-in
