LibGuides at City St George's

Resources and Best Practices for creating LibGuides at City St George's

Using colour

Colour contrast

Some people may have difficulty reading text if there is not sufficient contrast between the text or other elements against the background (such as light text on a light background).

LibGuides has default built in styles which give a good contrast ratio. Do not change the default text colours.

Inserting images and embedding third-party content

Take care when inserting images, such as diagrams, to make sure that the colour contrast is high enough.

Using colour for meaning

Do not use colour alone for meaning. Always use text labels or a secondary way of conveying the information.
