When publishing your LibGuide you are making a commitment to maintaining it. Guide owners should regularly review their LibGuides.
You will be prompted by the LibGuides Group to thoroughly review and update your guides during the summer break.
Things to check regularly:
- All links are working. You can use the Link Checker to help with this.
- Any widgets you have embedded are working correctly.
- New databases have been added to your LibGuides, and resources we no longer subscribe to are removed.
- You are using the correct Library Services Terminology.
Additional annual checks:
- Your profile box has accurate contact information.
- If you have linked to books, they are the most recent edition.
- Check your guide statistics - this will tell you how your guide is being used.
- The guide has a clearly defined purpose for its continued existence.
- Unpublished boxes on LibGuides must have a stamp date in the title of the box to indicate when the box was unpublished. Unpublished boxes on published guides should be reviewed every 6 months, and should be deleted if no longer needed. This will help uncluttering the guides.
